Description / Abstract
Communication Studies: Fitspiration (fitness inspiration on social media), has been shown to cause body dissatisfaction. This study analyzed college women viewing fitspiration on Pinterest through interviews. The findings showed that participants experienced body preoccupation, identified the “it girl” trend as a contributing factor, and expressed that online comparison translated into daily life.
